Can soda be healthy? Ben and David, founders of Olipop, were wondering the same thing. Olipop is a soda brand that puts health, and the planet, first. Utilizing natural sugars from fruits, a sweetener that doesn’t add calories, and other natural ingredients like flowers and bark, Olipop has been able to create a unique and flavorful soda that doesn’t hurt your body.
With a long history working with kombucha and other drinks, Ben and David wanted to create a healthy drink that tastes good too. Nearly anyone can drink Olipop—it’s vegan, gluten-free, paleo, and keto-friendly, and many have. First a health trend, Olipop has established itself in the drink market as an excellent alternative to traditional sodas. Since its founding in 2017, the brand has grown tremendously and is a staple in massive marketplaces like Walmart and Amazon.
Not only is Olipop good for your tastebuds and body, but it’s also good for the planet. By utilizing natural ingredients, Olipop’s drinks don’t create extra waste or harm the environment. The creation of Olipop’s sodas have always had the planet in mind—and now, their shipping is going to be eco-friendly too!
How EcoCart is furthering sustainability at Olipop
To further their sustainability efforts, Olipop recently joined thousands of other stores in shipping orders carbon neutral with EcoCart! EcoCart is a free e-commerce plugin that allows businesses and their customers to make their orders carbon neutral. EcoCart ships carbon neutral by supporting carbon offsetting projects that protect vulnerable communities and ecosystems around the world, while working to reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere.
As a brand that cares about the planet, Olipop added EcoCart to their store to make their sodas both produced and shipped sustainably. Olipop has chosen to support the Tri-City Forest Project, which helps to protect 6,500 acres of trees & watershed lands in Massachusetts! The project is able to offset over 100,000 tons of carbon every year, plus act as a water filter and habitat for the nearby ecosystem.
At checkout, customers can opt to pay a small percentage of their order to make it carbon neutral. The amount is determined by calculating how much carbon would be emitted from shipping the order, and it’ll go towards a carbon offsetting project in an equal amount to the carbon emitted.
